One of the things I check for with hair care products is how well they work on different hair types. Clearly, not every shampoo and conditioner proves to be beneficial to every user and consumers should make it a priority to be particular in their personal selections. However, understandably, there's confusion since nearly every hair care company makes the same claim of beautiful, shiny, healthy hair being just one bottle of their "specially formulated" product away. If we should all be so lucky! Nevertheless, I am pleased to report the Ookisa Fortifying Shampoo and Replenishing Conditioner has lived up to its claims for healthier looking hair. (Hopefully, with continued use they will also live up their claims for stronger and thicker hair).

When these products were used on relaxed (African American) and naturally straight hair, they successfully softened and hydrated the hair for a healthy shine. A plus for Ookisa is that it is a paraben-free, sulfate free and cruelty free hair care line. Without the (possibly toxic) chemical preservative, drying component and animal testing, the products are more effective and more desirable overall).

While the shampoo and conditioner is definitely recommended, a drawback for some may be the price. It is salon quality but it’s at salon prices. Currently the Ookisa hair care products are only available for purchase online but the company offers a free trial. However, like all free trials, it’s important to read the fine print, especially if banking information is required).
